Explorer Vest

Vest, LS Tee, Jeans: Cabi Clothing (c/o) // Shoes: Steve Madden via Nordstrom Rack // Bag: Michael Kors // Glasses: Ray Ban // Necklace: Nordstrom

After this weekend it better stay warm, if it doesn't I will be so sad and it will be the biggest tease ever! It was almost 60 degrees yesterday...in February! I am chomping at the bit to plant my garden, but I am holding off because I know that frost will come in like a wrecking ball.

Like I mentioned last week I am preparing for spring, my wardrobe is totally ready too. These three pieces are my newest addition to my spring collection with many thanks to one of my new favorite retailers Cabi. You know how I feel about companies that are for women by women. If you check them out, it can be your new fav too! Cabi is a beautiful collection of women's apparel, designed for REAL women who live real lives. The line includes an affordable mix of professional separates and casual everyday pieces with new collections introduced in spring and fall. I am wearing the new SS16 collection. Cabi also has a consultant based selling model, Cabi stylist are there to help which is so great when need that extra bit of help or another stylish persons opinion! When I received my pieces in the mail I was extremely pleased at the quality. This long sleeve tee is the softest most luxurious tee's I own. I ordered four pieces and was able to create two full looks that I am loving and will transition perfectly into spring. The second look is coming later this week so stay tuned!

Feeling the Blues

Sweater: J Crew Factory (similar) // Jeans: Old Navy // Shoes: Banana Republic // Clutch: J Crew // Necklace: Kendra Scott // Sunglasses: RAEN

I have been wearing nothing but ripped jeans lately I felt I needed to change it up. Theres nothing like a dark wash perfect fitting stretch jean. They make even my short legs look long (ish). Adding similar color heels also helps elongate, try it next time! I know I have mentioned this a million times but if you are new here, these are my go to's from old navy, its the Rockstar and now they come in every color, wash and fit you could imagine. They are $34 full price and you know you can always find a coupon for Old Navy. I highly highly recommend at least trying a pair on, I got my best friend Tanya onto them and she has never looked back! #yourwelcome!

I always have to size up on sweaters, this is a large! When I buy sweaters I always take into consideration a few things, shrinkage being the main one, its going to happen especially because I never follow the directions on how to wash them, and I want to feel cozy and warm and comfy in them, so the bigger the better. At the end of the day who cares what size is on the the label as long as you feel comfortable and like they way you look

Another way to wear your shirt dress // Transition to Fall

Plaid Vest: TJMaxx (similar $20 , here) //  Tank: Old Navy ($7) // Jeans: JCrew// Heels: Ann Taylor $67 on sale! // Necklace: LOFT // Sunglasses: Ditto // Clutch: TJMaxx (my dream)

So I think I am going to start doing some posts where I show you all multiple ways to wear one piece. I mean we all buy pieces planning to wear them more than once of course but the problem is that we don't want to be an outfit repeater. So take this plaid shirt dress for example, you can find them everywhere right now, Forever 21, or this one from T J Maxx for $16, they come in tons of colors and really can be worn more than once. This is just one way to wear a long plaid shirt dress, as a long vest. This look is the perfect transition to fall, when the weather is still kind of warm, but you may need an extra layer in the evening, and if it gets too hot you can easily remove a layer and still look pulled together! There are many more ways to wear this piece and I plan on sharing them with you all in upcoming posts! What do you think? Is this concept something helpful to you all?

I hope you all have a great Labor Day and do something fun this weekend! Kev and I are going to the Lake for a few days since he has to work this weekend we are going to try to make the best of it!

Weekend Vibes

Skirt: C&C California via T J Maxx (similar here and here)// Tank: Fabletics (similar & cheap) // Bra: Carbon 38 // Sandals: Target // Necklace: Ann Taylor (similar) // Sunglasses: Prism via Ditto Endless Program

I still love this casual weekend look and this fab olive maxi, I found at T J Maxx about two weeks ago it was C&C California which is a favorite staple brand of mine and it was on clearance for $20, how could I say no!? If you remember last fall how obsessed I was with olive, I think the cooling temperatures have me turning to it. I love that this maxi has slits up the sides, so for someone who is short like me it shows some leg which helps me look less stumpy in a maxi skirt. I added a muscle tank with a fun bra, long necklace and was ready for some weekend activities.

I am obsessed with my new PRISM Sunglasses from Ditto.com, you all know how much I love their endless program and I am on my I don't even know what number pair! Don't forget you can always use the code SOBEANIE and get your first month of endless FREE!

There are only a few sweet days of summer left and I will try to enjoy the weather and the outfits for as many days as I can. As excited as we all get for fall, foliage, apple picking, and PSL's I will look back in December-February wishing it was summer time.

Speckled Clutch // Munich Apartment

Shorts: Banana Republic // Tunic: Old Navy // Shoes: DSW (similar, similar $13) // Sunnies: Retro Super Future via Ditto // Clutch: Walter & George // Bracelet: Ann Taylor

Hi!!...so please ignore the bruises on my legs...forever bumping into things!

So this was the balcony of the adorable Munich apartment my brother and his wife Air B&B'd for the week. The weather was pretty much perfect every day I was there so this adorable plant filled porch was dreamy and oh so perfect. I always leave Europe thinking.."Man I have too much stuff, then  I come home and buy more...typical American ways...;)

Everyone calls the hem of these shorts something different. Banana Republic calls it a dolphin hem(which I kind of like), I usually just call it a curved hem. I know I have said this a million times before but I will buy anything and everything with a dolphin hem, I am 5'2 (on a good day) and can use any help I can get in the leg lengthening department. The dolphin hem shows a little extra leg and giving you the perfect amount of lengthening and elongating. It just adds that small detail to pieces that takes them one step above the rest. I especially love this hem in shorts because they tend to hug my legs and body a bit more than dresses, but skirts, and dresses also sometimes come with this dreamy hem, I have a similar skirt from JCrew Factory with this curved hem (seen here).

Can we also talk about this clutch? This clutch is from a wonderful artisan and online shop called Walter & George. Handmade, leather for such an affordable price. I literally have been carrying this clutch with me everywhere since it arrived in the mail. Germany, Italy, Boston, Rhode Island and more! I love that this bag is getting better and better with time, the more I use it the more wrinkles and wear marks it gets. Melissa is the owner of W&G and she said a quote I just can't get out my my head, and it makes me so happy to find someone so genuine and real making amazing products like this one! Melissa: "I couldn't afford to buy myself a leather bag, so I decided to make one. You shouldn't have to go in debt to have cool things."
