Engagement Session #1

Since our wedding is in October, we went for the whole fall look. We went to a little farm across the street from where Kev grew up, in our hometown it was adorable, and meaningful to us.  KJ and I both have terrible luck and unfortunately it was raining, so my hair did not last long. Which is why we did a second session, that came out amazing too, I will share those soon too. I love our photos and our photographer(s). Brian Ambrose Photography. Check them out here! Here is a peek of some of our favorites.

As some of you know, KJ is not the most outgoing person in the world, especially when it comes to someone taking photos of him. I tried to make him feel "in his element" for or first engagement session. KJ was in the Army, and something we enjoy doing together is shooting, I know some people have their opinions on guns, and you are entitled to it, but we have our opinions too, and we are entitled to it.

(Ummm how killer is this photo. ^^^^)

This is one of my FAVORITE shots.
This photo pretty much sums up our relationship.

New Go to:

I swear, I could spend 18 of 24 hours on the computer getting nothing done (I would say 24 hours but I need at least 6+ hours of sleep, or else I am not a fun person to be around). Most of my time is spent reading blogs and putting things into my cart on my favorite online stores, that 90% of the time I never actually checkout, but pretend that one day I will. I have a handful of go-to online stores,  none of them high end, mostly inexpensive "fast fashion" online stores. I have stumbled upon most of them from some of my favorite blogs. My usual go-to's mainly consist of Forever21, Zara, LoveCulture, GoJane, etc. Recently I have stumbled upon some new favorites. Like LuLu's, LuLu's is an online store that I have had bookmarked for a long time, and am rediscovering how amazing it is.

Dress / White Top / Red Peplum / Black Peplum / Shredded Sweater  /  Pumps / Blue Peplum Top

When I went to bookmark this "new" gem, I realized I have bookmarked it twice before. Opps! The prices are spot on for my budget, the items are trendy, but not soo trendy you wear them once, and the quality and items offered are just a plus. Today I spent a large portion of my morning going page by page through the website, making sure I did not miss a thing. There are so many items that I wish I had found earlier so that I could have put them on my Dear Santa list.Per usual, I have many items in my cart, and am drooling over about 100+ all the peplum tops on the website, and the shoes...ugh amazing I could buy one of every pair!

Do you LuLu's

Christmas Spirit

With Christmas just around the corner, I had so many great ideas of blog posts, and then just never had time to write them, or photograph them, or even do them. I am always so excited for this time of year to roll around, and I love decorating, and baking cookies, and burning yummy candles. Then I always put buying presents off, and then I get stressed, and then I run out of money, well actually I never had money in the first place, so I spent fake money, that was meant for like food, so instead we try to make meals out of whatever is left in the cabinets. Not very joyful. Besides that, Christmas came extremely fast this year, usually we have one more week to prepare.

I finally started vacation yesterday and it feels amazing, if only I could find a way to not work, and only do things that I want to do. Maybe we will win the lottery, well I guess you have to play the lotto to win the lotto. Ugh I hate putting money towards something that you can possibly not get something in return. I HATE gambling, I actually don't think I have ever pulled one of those lever things in the casino. I am going to spend the rest of my vacation doing things I don't get to do. Like blogging, and sleeping in, and wedding things!! My wedding is creeping up on me and I am starting to stress. We have done two sessions of engagement photos, that I will be posting soon I promise! This Christmas will officially be my last Christmas not Married. Next time this year hopefully we will be settling into a home, and still glowing from post wedding excitement!

Anyways, I am excited for the next couple of days to just relax, spend time with my family, I am hoping come the end of my vacation I will be ready to go back to work, but more likely than not, I will just dread waking up even more!

P.S. I am praying for a while Christmas  it just always seems more whimsical, and that's why I live in New England. So anyone with extra luck to spare, send some my way for some snow in CT this Christmas.

Birthday Wish List - Dream World vs. Real World

Birthday Wish List

TOP: rag & bone boots vs. Steve Madden short high heels
BOTTOM: 3.1 Phillip Lim zippered tote bag vs. Michael Kors tote handbag /Michael Kors tote handbag

Most of the time while reading blogs, I think people live in some fantasy world, where money grows on trees. I find myself thinking, what the heck do they do for work?! Also, I have never been very good at saving, and I am sure some people shame on me. My real life cravings and dream world cravings are definitely not one and the same. I LOVE high end fashion, but my wallet, wedding planning, and life in general do not. Above is my "Birthday Wish List", which mind you I still feel some of the "Real World" items listed are a bit pricey and may need a serious do you or do you not period. I have always been the type of person to find things on a budget, or something that looks amazing and super expensive, but little does the world know....$10 T.J.Maxx .

Anyways today is my Friday and I could not be happier! I love spending time with family (I acutally enjoy spending time anywhere but work), and eating good food! Umm Hello!! The only down fall to having a birthday near thanksgiving is that everyone always eats pie. I mean I love a good slice of apple pie, but its my birthday, where is the ice cream cake!

Do you have a dream world and real world birthday wish list, or am I just nuts!? Either way enjoy!

To Do List: This Year

As I am sitting here on my couch eating Fiberful ends & pieces from Trader Joes and watching the fiance play COD. If you do not know what COD is, your lucky. I am so happy to be home from Germany. I used to think when I was in college that I would love traveling for work, and don't get me wrong I love traveling, not so much for work, and nothing really beats being home doing nothing. I have always been an old soul. My age in numbers has always dragged behind.

Monday marks 5 days until my 24th birthday, and while coworkers still can not get over the fact that I was born in 1988, I some times feel like I have let 24 years fly by. There are so many things I want to start doing, and wish I had done up to this day in my life. This past year was my "golden year" (The day of your birthday and the age you turn, Hence 23 on Nov 23rd. Get it?) Now don't get me wrong it was a golden year, I got engaged and am planning my wedding, but there are so many thing I feel like I should and could be doing.

In year 24 there are so many thing I am going to try to do better, or just do in general.

Yankee Candle vs. Bath & Body Works

You all know my love for Yankee Candle. As seen Here and Here, but I watch a lot of you tubers in my spare time who RAVE about the Bath and Body Works Candles. Some of them mentioned that they often go on sale for 2 for $20. Now don't get me wrong that is a really good deal, Especially because Yankee Candle's tumblers (closest in size to the bath & body works ones) cost anywhere between $15-28. So I decided to go out on a limb and try out the Bath & Body Works candles. The scent "Leaves" was the most raved about candle so I decided to buy 2, one for me and one for my mom. Seeing as she is the one who got me into candles in the first place. Well, I brought home my new candle and started to burn it, it smelled amazing, and was very strong, the smell penetrated through our little apartment in minutes. With that said, the candle burned out in almost 3 days! I went home to see my parents, and my mom had already burned right through her candle too! Prior to buying the new B&BW candles I had been burning a Yankee Candle "Autumn Wreath", that I have bought months prior, and as you all know I am an avid candle burner, at least a few hours every night.

With my new experiment over, I am now candleless, (well kind of, I have a few back-ups in case of emergency) There of course are many other brands of candles out there, but either they are not as strong, or they are way to expensive! I have gathered some new learning's for sure. There are positives and negatives to both brands of candles.

Price: Winner -- Bath and Body Works
Speed of Burn: Winner -- Yankee Candle
Strength of Scent: Tie

Overall, I will call this a DRAW, if you buy two Bath & Body Works candles (on sale) for the price of one Yankee Candle, and then technically they will last the same amount of time and cost about the same. I will most likely still purchase Bath & Body works candles only when they are on sale, and now I know not to expect them to last for a long time. And of course Yankee Candle will always have a spot in my heart, even more when they have sales! Love!

Oh and p.s. Yankee Candle and Bath and Body Works Holiday candles are out! Dying!!

Fall Favorites

Ever since I have gotten out of school I have had a new found love for Fall. Of course when you are a kid you hate fall, because fall means summer is over, when you are an adult (eww yuck, I am an adult) you start to appreciate the beauty of the season, and the coming holidays, and spending time with family. Also in 1 year from now fall will always have a special place in my heart, October 4th to be exact. My wedding! With Hurricane Sandy upon us, I decided to review some of my favorite fall photos to far this fall.
So far this fall I have been apple and pumpkin and apple picking with my lovely nieces and soon to be sister-in-law. With those apples I made some yummy apple crisp. We spend most of our weekends in CT, which is such a beautiful state in the fall, another thing I did not appreciate until now. I can't wait for Thanksgiving and the rest of fall to come, then its winter, which is a season I still don't love (its too cold!), but I can appreciate its beauty.

Thanksgiving Centerpieces

 Images Via Pinterest (Follow Me!)

Happy November 1st! 21 days until Thanksgiving, and 22 days until my birthday! (not counting today)
From Classic, to over the top, I am loving table decorating for fall. I think this is also the first year I realized that pumpkins come in other colors than orange, dying over white ones, and there are more things to do to pumpkins than just carve silly things into them, (more on this later this week).

Considering my mother once dressed my oldest brother up as a cornucopia for Halloween  and stapled paper fruit to him, and tied a basket to his head, he will never live that one down. Fall decorating has always been a fun past time for us.  My parents always have a large crowd for Thanksgiving, both side of our family in our house, its a lot of work, but that and Christmas Eve are some of my favorite family past times. It is hard to decorate the table when it is set for more than 10, more like 50. When KJ and I do buy our first house, I plan to so some serious table/house decorating. Until then, maybe I can create something for my parents this year, depending on my budget, or lack their of, ok maybe I will just bring the really cute fall candle centerpiece I purchased from TJMaxx...

How are you going to decorate your table for fall?

LC Lauren Conrad Holiday 2012

OK, I totally miss the show the Hills, I forgot to mention that TV show in my post yesterday about TV shows that I watched. I mean Kristin had a baby, and Lauren is more fierce than ever. Yesterday, I stumbled upon the LC Holiday 2012 Lookbook.  Lauren Conrad's collection for Kohls. Ya, I will be there as soon as I get my next 30% coupon... Kohls is a total hit or miss store for me, if you have a coupon, which is pretty much always, it is for the a hit. If you do not have a coupon, don't go. I literally could buy one of everything in the home section! The whole Food Network collection, to die for.  I have been super impressed with their clothes as of lately, sometimes I think the prices are a bit high, but once they go on sale they are totally worth it. Last winter a found an adorable fur vest from the Simply Vera (Vera Wang) collection that I had been searching for all over the mall. See below for a few of LC's items from her Holiday 2012 Collection.
This first sequin dress is AMAZE! I love the bottom detail, I am such a sucker for small details like that. It makes the leg look great ($80,available November). 80 bucks sounds like a deal, but we will see what the material is when the dress is in stores in November, fingers crossed. The cream heart sweater below ($50, available November) is also another one of my favs.
I still love you Lauren Conrad. I am sorry I ever wore a Holister T-Shirt that said "Team Kristin"
Photos thanks to Kohls

So Many Pumpkins So Little Time

This year has been a definite learning experience, also it has opened my eyes to many new things, one thing in particular is fall. I am exploring all things fall, and I am not sure if I have been living under a rock, or what but up until this year I have thought that pumpkins only come in Orange.  Umm no one ever told me about the adorable white variation of pumpkin! Dying!
With Halloween literally days away I figured  I would share some of my favorite fall pumpkin decorating ideas. Who knew there were so many things you could do besides carve cheesy faces into pumpkins. I am totally hooked, I mean slap some sparkle or gold on anything and I am a fan. I mean how adorable are all of these! I mean all of these are soo far away from cheesy, its insane. I literally CAN NOT wait to have a mantle to decorate.
